Patricia,

In response to the unelected Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act, we're organizing to defend our right to vote.

Today, thousands will converge on Montgomery, Alabama at the All Roads Lead to the South national day of action for a truly multiracial democracy where everyone has an equal say in the political systems that affect their lives. Click here to find an action near you today.

To realize our right to a free and fair democracy where Native and Black communities, and all People of Color have a say in our future, it's critical that Congress act. And right now there are two pieces of legislation that would counteract SCOTUS's decision and stop the surge of voting rights violations underway -- including last-minute changes to electoral maps.

Send an urgent message to Congress demanding they pass the Fair Representation Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act today to restore and expand the Voting Rights Act's protections nationwide.

SIGN AND SEND

When we are unable to vote or have a fair chance at electing people from our communities, our political voice is weakened -- at a time when sovereignty, our treaty rights such as the right to healthcare, and human rights are being dismantled.

This latest Supreme Court ruling is one of a series of decisions that ignores the reality that discrimination in voting is not past tense; it has become a tidal wave of redistricting, creating obstacles to voting by mail and the purging of voting rolls.

Native peoples’ right to vote is intertwined with our constitutional right to sovereignty and self-governance over our lands, our communities, and our resources.

Since the beginning of time, our people have organized, led, and protected one another. We have never depended on one court decision or one unjust law to define our future. We have an inherent, and moral right to be a part of the governance of this land.

And so do the millions who’ve suffered due to slavery, internments, racial profiling and discrimination in the past 250 years.

Please contact Congress and demand immediate action to strengthen democratic safeguards and voting rights today.

With your support, Native Organizers Alliance Action Fund will help Indian Country be a vibrant part of the movement for a truly multi-racial democracy and stand with all who are ready to say no to the authoritarian, unjust government policies.

Hawwih (thank you) for taking action today,

Judith LeBlanc (Caddo)
Executive Director
