The most egregious numbers in the national media this week are those above in the title. 287 (g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 2016 passed in 1952. Trump Taco the Dumbo on his first day in office for the second time around issued an Executive Order 14160 expanding the reach of that law to allow for local police agencies to enforce federal immigration laws under provision (287 (g)) of the 1952 Act. Heretofore, immigration was exclusively a federal matter. And, this all began to change with Trump Taco the Dumbo. He wanted to deport everyone who did not look White regardless of citizenship, residency, political asylum, Temporary Protected Status, student visa, and on down the line. Never mind that he first said it was to rid ourselves of all criminal illegal immigrants. Deport 10 million he said was the goal.
Now. there is federal money galore to be had by local law enforcement to do pad their salaries, buy more munitions, new cars, and take some training to enforce that section of the law. Right after 9/11 when the Department of Homeland Security was formed and immigration enforcement was reorganized into Immigration and Control Enforcement (ICE) Congress appropriated $7.68 billion for that purpose to ICE. Florida with 278 local police agencies and Texas with 233 local police agencies lead the nation among the states. The least number of such agencies enforcing 267 (g) as of January 2026 are Washington, Oregon, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Alabama, Hawaii and California with 0. The next states with 1 agency enrolled in 267 (g) are Massachusettes, New Mexico, and Colorado. Ohio and Alaska each have 2 local police agencies active in the program. In 2026, three states have now banned their local police agencies from participating in the 267 (g) program: Maine, Maryland, Delaware and New Mexico.
In 2017, only 37 local police agencies had signed on to be 287 (g) enforcers. By 2025, 15, 338 local police agencies had signed on. Now, the federal appropriation for ICE and for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is at $169.7 Billion! Almost every local police agency has jumped into the cornucopia of federal money.
These are the masked, unidentified ICE and CBP thugs you see at airports, college campuses, and major cities of the country arresting people left and right. There is no due process much less
a call allowed to notify a relative or lawyer about your arrest. Within hours of being detained, persons have been relocated to another state away from where they were first detained and in some cases deported to another country without any connection to the detainee. Additionally, some 77.2 million people in the US live in a county with a local police agency is involved in the 267 (g) program. Local police under that program are now doing traffic stops, setting up checkpoints, monitoring job sites, church services, and looking based on skin color possible “illegal aliens.” Part of their salaries are now paid from these federal funds.
Over at the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth does not want to be behind the money-machine. He is asking for not billion but $1.5 Trillion for his budget next year. He claims he needs that and more to continue funding the war in Iran and to replace all the munitions spent bombing so far. I tell you there is money to be made in joining Trump Taco the Dumbo’s militarization of the US toward making it a dictatorship. That is the ultimate goal: military dictatorship in the USA and territories.
8647 is a presidential death threat?
The other numbers causing chaos and almost a judicial circus are the numbers 8647. Former FBI director, James Comey was indicted and charged with federal crimes a few months back and prevailed in his defense. He is now charged once again this time with making a death threat toward to the president. Last year while Comey was walking on a beach in North Carolina he saw four digits, 8647, on the sand made of small sea shells. He took a picture and posted it on his Instagram account. He thought it was cute and creative. When he was criticized by some followers, he took it down.
A few days ago, he was indicted by a jury for making threats against the president, a major federal law felony. Remember, there is no defense attorney allowed in the Grand Jury deliberations only the Prosecutors. He has been arrested and arraigned. Supposedly, the Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors argued the first two numbers, 86, are the threat. The evidence is that some restaurants in New York City used that phrase of 86 to single out an unruly, drunk, offensive, obnoxious, non-paying patron for eviction i.e. get rid of the person. The DOJ has taken that to me get rid of the person by killing him or her.
The better part for DOJ prosecutors are the numbers 47. Trump Taco the Dumbo is the 47th president of the USA. Is this a giant leap into an Alice in Wonderland sequel? The DOJ will have a very difficult time at trial using these arguments to prove malice, bad intent, criminal motive, and authenticity. The numbers were in the sand. No evidence that Comey placed them there. He posted a photograph of them on Instagram. And even if so, how is that evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that Comey was making a threat to kill Trump Taco the Dumbo? That is the standard of proof required in a criminal case. I know because I am a lawyer who has been involved with some felony level criminal cases.
To me this is more of our DOJ being made Trump Taco the Dumbo’s private law firm. He is still going after those he perceives as his political enemies and targeted for persecution.
