ACLU [LRL] We're in the fight of our lifetime.

Friends, We're in the fight of our lifetime.

After last year's election, I promised you that the ACLU would take action the minute that President Trump took office. We knew he would follow through on his dangerous campaign promises: attacking free speech, immigrants' rights, the LGBTQ community, and so much more. We had a plan, and we were ready.

 We have done just that.

On Inauguration Day, one of President Trump's first executive orders was an attempt to end birthright citizenship for children of immigrant families. Within hours, we sued to stop him. All in all, we've brought more than 200 legal actions against the Trump administration. And we're winning – in more than 70% of our cases, we have already successfully defeated, diluted, or delayed Trump's agenda.

And we've been busy outside the courtroom, too. We've mobilized more than 380,000 supporters to make clear military troops don't belong on our streets – and urge Congress to rein in this abuse of power. We've shown the strength of our community and will keep this pressure up until these attacks on our rights stop. We've organized over 93,000 people with our People Power activist program, and over 33,000 people joined our Know Your Rights trainings across the country to know how to interact with ICE.

But this fight is not over. We're less than one year in. We must keep fighting on behalf of immigrant families, suing to protect due process, and stopping the deployment of military troops to U.S. cities.

You can count on the ACLU to defend your rights. But we're counting on you, too. We truly rely on your donations to fuel our work. That's why I'm asking you today: Will you make a donation today, in honor of Giving Tuesday, to ensure we can keep fighting in the year ahead?
DONATE NOW

Here at the ACLU, we have a saying: We don't get ready. We stay ready. That's my commitment to you today.

Just as I promised you after the election that we were ready to fight back, I promise you today that we'll continue to fight back, showing up every single day to defend and protect our civil rights.

Thank you for being in this fight with us.
