Patricia,
ICE and DHS are defying the Constitution, violating human rights, and racially profiling and detaining Native peoples and Tribal citizens. They have murdered U.S. citizens in the streets and inside detention centers, where ICE is also denying people their rights to due process and adequate medical care. At least 50 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office last year.
But even as these government agencies break the law with impunity, Congress is preparing to vote on $70 billion more for ICE and Border Patrol to terrorize our communities.
The Senate already passed this disastrous funding bill last Friday. Now the House is getting ready to vote today.
Rush an urgent message to your Representative demanding they vote NO on another blank check for ICE and Border Patrol, which would fund these rogue agencies through the end of Trump's term in office.
SIGN AND SENDLast year, Republicans handed ICE and Border Patrol a massive slush fund to implement their unlawful actions with deadly results, including disappearing our neighbors, separating families, detaining children, and entering or breaking into homes without judicial warrants.
In addition to continuing to terrorize communities with their lawlessness, leaders at ICE want to speed up the building of warehouse-style detention camps across Turtle Island.
The Choctaw Tribe blocked their plans in Oklahoma. The Miccosukee Tribe continues their legal fight to close Alligator Alcatraz, which was built on their territory in Big Cypress.
Not only does this Republican bill fund ICE through the end of Trump's term in office, it also contains zero limits on ICE violence at a time when Trump's border czar Tom Homan has pledged that more "mass deportations are coming."
Send an urgent message to your U.S. Representative right now and demand they reject $70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol that would escalate risk to human life as well as violence, detention, and deportation of our immigrant neighbors.
Hawwih (thank you) for your steadfastness in the struggle to stop ICE violence.
