Patricia,
The NOA Fellows program, our 7 Generations Survey Project, and our multiple-day organizing trainings held across Turtle Island offer tribes and community organizations the opportunity to expand the circle of grassroots leaders and organizers who engage their communities through the practice of traditional community building in 21st century conditions.
We call that “thinking Indian.”
It’s the practice of being aware of how we are all in relationship in the past and continuing on into the future.
Our purpose is to cultivate an ecosystem of tribal and community leaders and organizers who prioritize values-driven nation building to protect the lands, waters, health, well-being, and human rights.
And I can tell you, year after year, the work we do together restoring traditional organizing practices of Tribal and Native leaders and building Native grassroots political power is felt across Indian Country and impacts us all, Native and allies alike.
We’re blessed to do this work because of you, your support, and the commitment of our partners. Please make a generous donation that continues to deliver the resources to support and engage the Native leaders Indian Country needs right now.
We met in Detroit, Michigan for a two-day organizing training, 60 NOA Organizers and Fellows from participating partner organizations and Tribes to explore the significance of traditional organizing for today’s world.
We held discussions, heard from experienced life-long organizers and practiced the skills of visiting to deepen the quality of relationships to take action together and deepen the understanding of the ways our ancestors.
Using the tools of relational organizing and kinship networks to gather insights about community priorities, the training strengthens our collective power and helps Native and Tribal communities speak with a unified voice.
In these tough and challenging times, it’s absolutely critical that we work together for today, tomorrow and the next seven generations. We are able to do this because of you and the generosity of everyone who supports this work. Please keep us strong by making a donation now.
