Court clears way for Texas to enforce migrant arrest law Story by Nate Raymond • Reuters

The Editor: This is a second go-around with SB 4, the Texas "show me your papers law." In the first round, a district court had TRO'ed the execution of the law which resulted in the 5th Circuit reversing the lower court decision. The 5th Circuit also ruled that the El Paso organization plaintiff that filed the lawsuit lacked standing. In this second round, the ACLU filed a new lawsuit on the day SB 4 was going to go into effect and a federal court in Austin stopped the state effort. This announcement in this news cycle tells us that the 5th Circuit again reversed the lower Austin federal court and will allow SB 4 to go into effect.
