United We Dream - TONIGHT: “Letters for Our Neighbors” Call!

Hey, am I seeing you tonight at our “Letters for Our Neighbors” Community Call?

We’re less than a month away from DACA’s 14th anniversary. Even though this program has allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth to build their homes, families, and careers in the U.S., right now we’re witnessing the most dangerous moment in DACA’s history.

More and more of our neighbors are reporting months-long delays in getting their status renewed at USCIS, leading them to lose their jobs, their protections, and even their driver’s licenses. Some have been waiting since November, not knowing if they’ll have a job to return to once their status is renewed.

With efforts to dismantle the DACA program escalating on every front, we must call on Congress to deliver a pathway to citizenship that keeps our families, communities, and workforce intact.

We know the power we hold when we stand united. Just recently, unionized registered nurses in California successfully mobilized to protect their colleague, a DACA recipient impacted by these prolonged delays, from losing their job. And, nearly 14 years ago, this is exactly how we won DACA protections: with co-workers, neighbors, classmates, and immigrant youth all uniting for a common goal. Can you imagine our power if communities across every town and state came together for a pathway to citizenship?

From now until June 15, DACA’s 14th anniversary, we’re gathering in our communities to write letters to Congress calling for a pathway to citizenship. Will you take part in our nationwide efforts? Join us at our “Letters for Our Neighbors” Community Call tonight at 6:30 pm ET to learn how to bring your friends and family together to write letters to Congress!
