The Editor: The question on the LULAC street is why is the position of National Treasurer not posted on the LULAC website? The position and a picture of Summer Gonzales was posted up to last week. It's no longer there. What happened? Does LULAC have a National Treasurer?

The vote for the National LULAC Treasurer in Las Vegas this past summer was:

209 LULAC'ers who voted to have Summer Gonzales as the National Treasurer want an answer.

They won by 2 votes, but they won. In a democracy, simple majority goes to the winner.

Article II, Conventions, Section 8. In all instances, with the exception of those in which the National Constitution specifies a vote proportion such as two‑thirds (2/3), or specifies the certified delegates as determined, a simple majority vote of certified delegates and voting officers shall prevail.

LULAC is not a January 6 organization. If a canidadte wins by 1 vote, the loser in all LULAC Conventions accepts defeat. There is democracy in LULAC. It is honored and respected by all brother and sister LULAC'ers.

So again, the silent voices of LULAC ask, where is the Treasurer?
