Roberto Vazquez - OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Friendly Reminder - Deadline 10/6/2014: :

Colegas,

Let  us  make a difference. Please mail out your letters today.

Estimados/as Colegas,

I propose that we, LARED-L Members, write the following letter to President Obama. I have set a deadline to mail this letter, October 6, 2014. You can tweak and edite this letter to express your own particular opinions. However, I suggest we leave the part regarding Membership of LARED-L intact. When we send the letter to President, we must give the impression that we are all part of a National Organization. This, in my judgment will give us more clout, power and influence. I want to urge  you to forward and distribute this letter widely to other listserves, and mailing lists,  as well as your friends, colleagues and associates. If we all cooperate, I estimate the President will receive close to 300 letters. This should get his attention. Don't you agree? Lastly, I just want to remind you that we all should mail out this letter no later than October 6, 201. This is  to make sure the letters reach the President, way before the  November midterm elections.

Gracias, Saludes, y Buena Suerte,

Roberto Franco Vazquez

RE: Executive action of administrative relief for eligible undocumented immigrants

President Barack Obama:

I am member of LARED-L, one of the largest National Latino Listserv Networks in the country. I write you this letter with the greatest of urgency that the matter requires for the good of our families, and therefore, of the country.  I am referring to the urgent need for executive action of administrative relief for eligible undocumented immigrants - family members of us all.

You decided to delay any decision on this matter until after the November midterm elections.  This is extremely unfortunate due to the continued deportations and separation of families that will occur, estimated at 70,000 more.  Various members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus have expressed from dismay, surprise, and displeasure with this decision, rightly so. I agree with these responses.

However, I am now concerned that mounting pressure within the Democratic Party may have you not even assert executive authority subsequent to the elections and continue along the failed legislative road to "comprehensive immigration reform" with a Republican Party probably emboldened by the election results.

I want to urge to comply with your promise to take executive action of administrative relief to stem deportations before Thanksgiving Day.

We are at a momentous time in our history in the fight for immigration reform.  We have not been successful legislatively for known reasons.

Our only alternative today is executive action to stop deportations and the devastating effects of these on our families - two million and counting; and to grant protected legal status to all eligible undocumented currently in the country.  This is the Latino community's reasonable expectation of you as our elected President.

Thank you for taking my observations into consideration and acting promptly on my request for executive action of administrative relief for eligible undocumented immigrants - family members of us all.

Sincerely Yours,

Roberto Franco Vazquez,

Member LARED-L National Listserv Network
