Dr. Bordas is the author of The Power of Latino Leadership – Ahora! chosen #1 by Amazon for Hispanic studies and the best-selling book Salsa, Soul, and Spirit: Leadership for a Multicultural Age. Both books won the International Latino Book Awards for best leadership books.
She served as advisor to Harvard’s Hispanic Journal on Public Policy, the Kellogg National Fellows Program, and as a trustee of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. She was the first Latina to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from The International Leadership Association and was chosen one of 100 Latino influentials by The National Diversity Council.
A Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame inductee, the Hall released a documentary on her life – The Voice and Vision of Latina Leadership. She is a founder of Colorado’s Mi Casa Resource Center, Colorado’s largest Hispanic serving organization and founding president of The National Hispana Leadership Institute.
Dr. Bordas immigrated from Nicaragua on a banana boat when she was three years old. She was the first in her family to graduate from college. Today she is recognized as a national Latina leader, elder and icon in the world of leadership. |
