In this blog I focus on various aspects of the Trump mass deportations, including the hypocrisy underlying these. For example:

Even as he asserted that the mass-deportation raids targeted drug dealers, Trump granted a full and unconditional pardon to convicted drug dealer Ross Ulbricht, who ran what prosecutors (whom Trump referred to as “scum”) said was the world’s largest online drug marketplace. Ulbricht was serving a life sentence with no possibility of parole.

Jesús S. Treviño, the founder of Latinopia, recently was awarded the East Los Angeles Arts Initiative Gloria Molina Champion of the Arts Pioneer Award for his lifetime pioneering work in cinema and television.

Jesús documented on film the most important events in the Mexican American/Chicano Civil Rights Movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. This work is documented in his book “Eyewitness: A Filmmaker's Memoir of the Chicano Movement.”

Jesús is also the author of “Return to Arroyo Grande,” for which he received the 2016 American Book Award given by The Before Columbus Foundation
