The Celebrating Latino Excellence in Educational
Achievement Luncheon will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, February 14,
at the 43rd USHLI National Conference. The luncheon will be
co-sponsored by Goya Foods, represented by Rafael Toro, and the
National Education Association, represented by Laura Castillo.
Welcome remarks will be by Cristina Pacione Zayas, Chief of Staff to
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. The featured speaker will be First Lt.
Alma Cooper, Miss USA 2024. Receiving the Dr. Antonia Novello Humanitarian
Medallion will be Mitzy Perez Morales, executive director of Kids 4
Green Culebra (Puerto Rico). The graduating classes of 2025 will
receive special recognition.
Registration is still open. Our room block at the Sheraton is closing
soon and the remaining rooms at the hotel are going fast because of
the Chicago Auto Show.
