Last month, I wrote to you about 15 immigrant youth leaders who were in the middle of a six-week intensive called Level Up: The Dream Lab.
They graduated! 👩🏽🎓🎉✊🏽
Twelve sessions across six weeks, leaders from eight regions, and by the end, every single one of them walked away with a community event of their own — planned from start to finish, happening this September.
Whether it's a training session for high schoolers, a pickup soccer game, or a community mural about where we come from, 15 different communities now have a trained leader who, six weeks earlier, had never organized an event.
That's not an accident. This is what United We Dream does.
United We Dream provides the tools, resources, training, and support to make the impossible, inevitable. Will you chip in $15 to power the leadership development that turns 15 people into 15 organizers?
One of our staff facilitators described the moment it clicked, during a session on artivism — the creative power and strategy inside movement-building:
"We talked about how movement work isn't limited to protests or traditional organizing. It can be music, dance, poetry, murals, digital media, performance, or something completely different. Then, we gave them space to actually apply it… They were talking through their own ideas, imagining what they wanted to create, and figuring out how they could make those ideas real."
And on what it means to be the person doing the training:
"I might be the trainer today, but the goal is for a member to eventually be the person organizing an event, facilitating a meeting, teaching someone else, or coming up with an idea that none of us on staff could have created for them."
Bernardo, that's the whole point. The billionaire class is betting that we'll play it small and stay divided. But we're the builders and the creators who power this country every day — and every organizer we train is one more person who knows how to bring their neighbors together.
Fifteen of them do. Next time, we want it to be more.
Programs like this only happen because people like you invest in them. Chip in $15 today to fuel leadership development and movement-building — because this is how the impossible becomes the inevitable.
