Native Organizers Alliance - NOA Fellows FTW

Native Organizers Alliance Logo

Patricia,

The NOA Fellows program offers tribes and community organizations the opportunity to expand the circle of grassroots leaders and organizers who engage their communities through the practice of traditional values in 21st century conditions. We call that “thinking Indian,” being aware of how we are all in relationship in the past and continuing on into the future.

Our purpose is to cultivate an ecosystem of grassroots leaders and organizers who prioritize values driven community and nation building to protect our lands and waters, and human rights, health, and well-being.

And I can tell you, year after year, the work we do together restoring traditional organizing practices of Tribal and Native leaders and building Native political power is felt across Turtle Island.

We’re blessed to do this work because of you, your support, and the commitment of our partners. Please make a generous donation that continues to deliver the resources to support and engage the Native leaders Indian Country needs right now.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:

Meet Lymarie Muniz Velazquez, Arawak Taino Tribe of Puerto Rico working with the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida. She has been an educator for 15+ years and getting young people involved in their community was a top priority driving her fellowship.

Lymarie felt helping Native youth identify a purpose and teaching community members about their history prepares them to engage with outside governments. They serve as ambassadors who bridge the gap between the Tribe and the global community through authentic storytelling.

Lymarie led the creation of a Miccosukee Embassy Fellowship program to showcase the diversity, traditions, and resilience of the Miccosukee people, fostering meaningful connections, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange on both a local and national scale. By training participants as future leaders of the Miccosukee Tribe, we ensure the continuation of our heritage while creating opportunities for the community to thrive in an interconnected world.

This is what we mean when we say we’re building Native grassroots political power across Indian Country. This is what your support makes possible. Please consider making a donation of $5 or whatever you can afford and let’s keep this work funded with the resources we need now.

Hawwih (thank you in Caddo) for being a part of our circle.
