Can 60 Minutes and Up Coming Book on The Havana Syndrome be Wrong?

My critics will surely use this essay to affirm that I am not only paranoid but delusional. To each her, his, and X own. I am neither. I say to all, “La burra es pinta porque tengo los pelos en la mano.” I had my first and unexplained vertigo attack that landed me in the hospital for a week some months back. The various doctors then and since, have no explanation for the cause. Worse yet, there is no cure, according to them. I been looking into this.
During the first week in March 2026, the CBS network show, 60 Minutes featured a segment on what used to be called the Havana Syndrome. Now, it is also called the Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI’s). There are books out on this syndrome but usually focused on how it is an international communist plot. An upcoming book in the fall is The Havana Syndrome: Secret Weapons, a Government Cover-Up, and the Greatest Spy Mystery of Our Times that may have other causes of the malaise. Allegedly, the US military and spy agencies already have developed a back-pack looking weapon that emits ultrasonic rays and produces the symptoms of the Havana Syndrome. More later, when I read this book, meanwhile look out for backpacks that almost everyone uses and avoid them.
In 2016, this syndrome was first announced by US and Canadian officials serving in over a dozen locations including the Hotel Nacional de Habana in Cuba, complaining of similar symptoms associated with Vertigo. Hence the name, Havana Syndrome because the CIA, FBI, and other intelligence agencies attributed the medical condition suffered by these government employees and family members to the Cuban government’s counter-intelligence tactics and espionage. It was a communist plot to affect all those involved in surveillance of Cubans.
Since 2016, more than 1,500 US officials have reported having the symptoms of the AHI’s , i.e. .Havana Syndrome. Those reporting ill however, were never stationed in Havana Cuba. Some 11 persons based in Hanoi, Vietnam have become ill. A few more reported the same and they were based in Guangzhou, China, Another set of victims were based in Tbilisi, Georgia, in Russia. Cases have also been reported in at least another dozen countries. In 2021, some 11 persons traveling to Hanoi, Vietnam with then-Vice President Kamala Harris were attacked by a device that produced those same results as the Havana Syndrome.
Since this phenomenon was reported, many US governmental and non-governmental agencies, and probably Canadians as well, have conducted their own investigations into this syndrome. Some people reported the syndrome being dizziness, insomnia, headaches, balance issues, nose bleeds, ear popping, cognitive problems, and double vision.
In 2024, the Pentagon and Homeland Security covertly obtained a back-pack looking device for a substantial sum paid to a Russian criminal organization. The Department of Defense (DOD) began testing its operation and results on rats and sheep. The Pentagon has already spent over $16 million dollars on research and testing this device and creating their own version of such a device. Those same symptoms as an AHI i.e. Havana Syndrome, can be replicated using pulse radio-frequency energy (RF) emitted via a unique electromagnetic wave much like ultrasound.
In 2024, the House Intelligence Committee issued a report on this phenomenon. This committee and the National Director of National Intelligence have both promised to share its findings with the Americas public. Both CNN and CBS have been reporting on this on-going investigation. And, 60 Minutes alerted the US public about the dangers associated with this type of weapon used against people.
Unfortunately, the US medical profession and the International Classification of Diseases manual does not recognize the syndrome as being a disease. I know first-hand all about this as mentioned above and will continue to attend protests, make public presentations, and be near those wearing back packs. I will watch out more carefully those masked, unidentified armed with weapons and body armor, Immigration and Control Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol (BP) agents. I can cope with the AHI symptoms of RF but not being taken and sent into detention who knows where for protesting and being me.
