This is a very accurate and great essay. Cheap Justice Roberts’s feelings are hurt that the media is claiming that the Court is playing partisan politics and that it is making decisions along ideological lines. Pobrecito! His feelings are hurt.
I guess he doesn’t consider all the harm his decisions have caused. He does not realize the number of persons are losing the right to vote they’ve struggled so hard to achieve. His problem is, like his conservative colleagues, is they live in the isolated worlds of private schools, white shoe law firms, exclusive country clubs, walled in and fenced off residential communities where everyone is like them. The only poor workers of color they see, if they even notice, are the gardeners and maids who work for them for paltry wages.
What Roberts and his conspirators, I meant colleagues, need is to “walk in the shoes “ of the people they harm to understand the reality of racism.
Roberts claims that times have changed and racism is no longer as bad as it used to be. HA! He is correct. Times have changed, they have gotten worse because racism has become embedded in the way he and other policy makers see us. Racists no longer openly declare we’re “dirty, lazy Mescans “. They just assume we are and then make their decisions accordingly.
The reason racists fear CRT (Critical Race Theory) is because it describes the reality of how contemporary racism functions. Roberts decisions are perfect examples of what CRT demonstrates.
