Hi Bernardo,
Are you meeting up with friends for cafecito this weekend? Or having a Bridgerton marathon? You can turn your next outing into an opportunity to build power and show solidarity to your neighbors in detention.
Last month, over 115 of us came together at our “Powered by Love, Not Cages” community call to start writing letters to our neighbors in detention. Since then, more than 100 people have committed to bring their friends and family together to write their own letters.
From New Mexico to Virginia, our communities are standing united to show our love and care to our neighbors in detention. And now, you can grow our power by hosting your own letter writing gathering!
“Since I got to this Center all you will feel is sadness and mostly depression,” a 14-year-old child wrote from within the ICE Dilley Facility. In a moment where our neighbors are being separated from their communities, something as simple as a letter can offer hope, human connection, and understanding.
We’ll be collaborating with local partners to get your letters delivered to our neighbors in detention. All you need is pen and paper to turn your next movie night or coffee date into a letter writing opportunity.
🤝 Can I count you in? Sign up to host your own letter writing gathering today, and receive our “Powered by Love: Letter Writing Toolkit” and 1:1 support from our team:
