Moderator’s Note: More than 500 academic scholars and professors have signed unto a growing list of anthropologists joining a boycott of Israeli academic institutions. I am posting the statement in support of this boycott, which I signed last week and call on my colleagues in anthropology across the world to join this effort and participate in the a mass global movement against state terrorism and genocide in Occupied Palestine. I endorse this academic boycott because occupation and settlement operations by Israelis constitute war crimes and are most banal and evil of all states of exception, coming from a people whose own history involves such an immoral catastrophe.
