United We Dream - 🗣️Join students in honoring our ancestors by organizing

Bernardo, Students from 15 schools across the East Coast recently came together at our People Powered East Convening to plan their Powered by Students campaigns. 💪🏽 Powered by Students is our campaign to make sure college is for all of us, no matter our immigration status. From protecting in-state tuition to building safe campuses, students across the country are taking action to build the schools they need. At the convening, students learned how to identify their people and the change their campuses need, how to build a campaign plan and timeline, and how to craft tactics that actually win. Now they’re heading back to their schools to build the future we deserve. 🧡 This is what community power is about, when we come together, learn from each other, and commit to action, we make change happen. If you’re ready to join young people around the country who are doing just that, join us for Powered by Ancestors: Recuerdos and Resistance on Wednesday, October 21 at 7PM ET! RSVP FOR THE COMMUNITY CALL! The power students are building today is rooted in the generations of organizers that came before them. On this call, we’ll not only honor our ancestors and the people in our communities who have lost their lives at the hands of federal agents, we’ll also be building a community altar using the tradition of Dia de Los Muertos. 🕯️ Don’t forget to bring a photo of a loved one, a beloved pet, or someone from your community to add to our digital ofrenda. 🏵️ Our strength is generational, and it’s in community that we find it. Will we see you there? – Ximena and the rest of the UWD Team Follow us on: Email is one of the most important tools we have to reach supporters like you, but you can let us know if you'd like to receive fewer emails.
