Stop the Abuse of Power. Stop Unfounded Arrests of Public Officials. ACLU

The Trump administration sent ICE agents to search Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar's home in an apparent investigation of her citizenship, following months of politically motivated attacks.

This appears to be another example of the Trump administration weaponizing the federal government – especially the Department of Homeland Security and ICE – against political opponents and dissenters. In a democracy, we do not arrest or intimidate perceived political opponents over disagreements. 

Yet the Trump administration is doing exactly that – turning the power of the federal government against anyone who doesn't toe the line – whether it's elected officials, mayors, judges, or even protesters.
