US Taxpayers, We are Responsible for the US National Debt, not Trump!

Trump seldom, if ever, has paid his FAIR share of the taxes due on his income. I would venture to guess his sons and daughter have learned the same lesson: Don’t pay. Cheat if you must! Yet, those of us who do pay income taxes do so regularly. Our deadline to pay our income taxes is coming up in a week or so, April 15th. According to the National Priorities Project, the Trump war on Iran is costing us taxpayers an astounding $60 billion dollars a day! That amount spent on Medicaid would take care of 4 million people. That amount spend on SNAP (food stamps) would help 9.5 million persons. Those programs already have been cut and will be cut more.
Now, Trump wants another $1.5 trillion dollars added to his war budget for fiscal year 2027.
This does not include the replacement cost of the 16 jets and hundreds of MQ Reaper Drones already lost to Iranian retaliation. Fortunately, the pilots who ejected out of two F-15E jets over Iran are both safe. The ones in the refueling jumbo jet who were killed were not so lucky. Back in 1980 when the F-15 was first developed, it cost $31.1 million. Now, the replacement cost plus inflation and to be combat-readiness mode, each jet would cost over $100 million. The bombs each carry are an additional cost.
I am also not counting the drones, missiles, and rockets already used to bomb Iran. And, the even more to be dropped after this April 14th deadline he has unilaterally imposed before he bombs all bridges, electrical plants, and water supplies in Iran. Not only is this a blatant and heinous crime he and those pilots are about to commit under International Law because these are not military targets. The destruction of these vital infrastructure bridges and plants serve the residents of Iran.
One last point on Trump’s war. The more bombs, drones, missiles, rockets, jets, ships, personnel, and regular weaponry the US continues to use against Iran, the more it will cost us because this weaponry must be replaced. If as Trump says US security and military superiority are the main goals, then more trillions will be spent to replace all that is being used and lost.
The US tax payer now owes more in the form of the national debt than we spend on social programs that benefit people. The US government spends more money borrowing money than
paying out in programs to help its taxpayers. The biggest outlay of federal spending is for Social Security (SSN) that we pay in as we begin to work and is not paid out until we reach retirement age. SSN takes about $478 billion each budget year. The federal budget begins October 1 and ends on September 30 each year. Medicare is in 2nd place at an annual cost of $478 billion. In 3rd place is the interest on the National Debt! The interest paid in Fiscal Year 2026, now, is $425 million.
Some of this money paid as interest goes to some US based groups such as bond holders, Treasury Notes, pension plans, the Federal Reserve (the largest securities holder at $4.5 to 5.2 trillion), banks, mutual funds, insurance companies and foreign governments. Yes, foreign governments! Namely, Japan and China. The US owes Japan about $1.06 trillion and China about $759 billion. We are subsidizing one of the three major political enemies on the plant, China. We owe Russia a much smaller amount, $75 million. Check all this out at www.nationalpriorities.org/
