Patricia,
Starvation is being used
as a weapon of war against Palestinians. All of our ancestors are calling
upon humanity to support the Palestinian people and do whatever we can to
end the horrific conditions in Gaza.
Countries around the
world are moving to recognize the Palestinian state. Some countries are
halting arms supplies, others are announcing tariffs and other economic
sanctions in protest.
But the United States
remains the largest arms supplier for Israel’s military while the
majority of U.S. voters oppose sending more military aid.
The UN’s leading expert
on the right to food said about Gaza:[1]
“We have never seen a
civilian population made to go so hungry so quickly and so completely,
that is the consensus among starvation experts. Israel is not just
targeting civilians, it is trying to damn the future of the Palestinian
people by harming their children.”
Human rights groups have
documented the Israeli military’s atrocities that violate international
humanitarian law, including systematic destruction of hospitals and
schools, attacks on health workers and aid workers, and the blockade of
much-needed humanitarian aid that’s starving children. A U.N.-backed body
recently confirmed that the most severe levels of famine now exist in
Gaza -- the first official famine ever declared in the Middle East.
Next week, our allies
from the Feed Gaza Coalition are hosting a telethon-style event to bring
national and international attention to these atrocities. We’re backing them up with action,
sending thousands of messages to the White House demanding the United
States stop the starvation in Palestine.
Click
here to demand the Trump administration use its power to end the
restrictions on the flow of humanitarian aid to Palestinians and feed
Gaza now.
The United States
continues to shield Israel’s leaders from accountability, even as the
International Criminal Court has issued warrants for their arrest after
committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
While the U.S. continues
to send weapons and U.S. tax dollars to Israel’s military, a new
Quinnipiac poll shows that 60% of all U.S. voters oppose sending more
military aid to Israel, and half of all voters say Israel is committing
genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.[2]
Forced
starvation and genocide are clear violations of international law, and we
must escalate the pressure to ensure that the U.S. uses its leverage to
end the famine. Click here to send a message to the Trump administration
now.
Hawwih (thank you in Caddo)
for taking action in defense of human rights, peace, and the sanctity of
all life. We will continue demanding political solutions to political
problems rather than violence and war.
