The Editor: LULAC is planning to
hold a hearing to formally remove Summer Gonzales from her position of National
Treasurer, a position she won in a tight contested election by a margin of 2
votes, 209 to 207 votes. The election was attended by a little over 475
delegates.
On October 12, Roman Palomares
send Summer Gonzales a notice that the LULAC National Board had suspended her
from her position as National Treasurer.
Removing a nationally elected
officer from a national office is uncommon in LULAC. It does not happen. Sure,
we had the mass removals of 2022 related to an attempted takeover of LULAC, but
other than that, the Editor does not recall removals of VP Presidents or
National Treasurers in the past 95 years.
Why was Summer Gonzales removed
as National Treasurer?
She won her very competitive
election fair and square, so why was she booted out by Roman Palomares.
The 2024 election was Summer
Gonzales' second run for the position.
In her two terms as National
Treasurer, she has been denied full access to the LULAC financial books as
permitted under provisions of the LULAC Constitution.
The resistance started with
Juan Proano, the so-called CEO of LULAC and Liza Smith, the CFO of LULAC.
The resistance to Summer
Gonzales's access to the books was supported by the then National President of
LULAC and later by Roman Palomares, the current National President.
On December 28, 2025, Roman
Palomares notified the LULAC Board that he had appointed James Fukuda as the
National Treasurer.
James Fukuda is a Japanese
American male. Summer Gonzales is a Mexican American/Chicana female.
LULAC is a national civil
rights organization organized by Mexican American in South Texas in 1929, and
continues to be an organization composed of 80% Mexican Americans.
Japanese Americans belonging to
LULAC are one, James Fukuda.
Why was James Fukuda appointed
as National Treasurer?
James Fukuda was brought on
board in the 2022 LULAC mini-civil war, that saw the mass removal of several
LULAC officers. He was appointed in 2022 to the post of VP for the Northeast.
In 2024, James Fukuda ran for the same post and lost to Ramery De Luna, 251 to
158, a sound defeat.
So Roman Palomares tells us in
LULAC, if you are a Mexican American woman who runs a fair election, he will
remove you from your position as an officer if he does not like you and he will
appoint in your place a person who was soundly defeated in another national
officer race, a Japanese American male, who has no majority support among LULAC
delegates.
Eso es Machista!
Para tapar el hojo al macho,
Roman Palomares set up a finance committee, composed by three Board members, James Fukuda, the no majority support Japanese American who now serves as the National Treasurer, original financial cover-up officer, the resister to Summer Gonzales's request to
see the LULAC financial books in 2022-2023, and a new Regional VP officer.
The Editor does not understand
who gave Roman Palomares the idea that he could orchestrate a stupid strategy
to remove Summer Gonzales?
The Editor has received
information that the ouster of Summer Gonzales evolves from a personal agenda
involving a LULAC officer, an agenda that if exposed will bring calamity to
that officer and to LULAC.
If Summer Gonzales remains on
the agenda of the LULAC Board subjecting her to removal from LULAC, the Editor
will share with LULAC the expose'.
For the good and welfare of
LULAC, Summer Gonzales has to be reinstated to her position as National
Treasurer.
Once reinstated, she needs to
be given authority to appoint a financial assistant to help her with the
responsibilities that the LULAC Constitution bestows on the National Treasurer.
Once reinstated, Summer
Gonzales, as National Treasurer, must be permitted to carry out the tasks order
for the National Treasurer by the LULAC Constitution.
Like the Editor said, a
National LULAC officer has not been removed from his or her position as
national officer in the 95 years of LULAC.
What was Roman Palomares
thinking when he orchestrated the removal strategy?
Did he think that this stupidy would be
swallowed by LULAC'ers without respingando.
Fuck no.
You remove Summer Gonzales
today, and tomorrow, it'll be another national officer the National President does not like.
This cockamamie oligarchical
game comes from the Elon Musk’s of the world. I got the money; I can do
anything.
Well, LULAC has that oligarch
with all the money to buy LULAC.
We must put an end to the BS.
LULAC must be restored back to
its constitutional order, no Emembers, no PAC, no pretty Creative Content
Officer, no extremist GOP'er running the civil rights policy of LULAC.
If Summer Gonzales is removed from office in the kangaroo proceeding Roman Palomares is proposing, the LULAC resistance will continue and grow. If Romal Palomares attempts to cancel the upcoming National Convention in LBCA and move it to DATX, the resistance will continue and grow. If Roman Palomares attempts to cancel the 2025 Convention of the National Assembly, 10% of last year's delegates will call for a Special meeting of the National Assembly and we will have a Convention in 2025 in Mule Shoe, Texas or Dime Box, Texas or wherever the delegates decide to convene.
The opposition to Roman Palomares has a candidate that will run against him with an agenda to terminate the ill hire of the webmaster of LULAC, Juan Proano, and the ill hire of the Creative Content Officer and the restructuring of the position of Research and Policy.
