The Editor: The Editor
posted a story about LULAC outdated and non-functioning webpages on immigration
yesterday. In 24 hours, LULAC erased the entire setup and posted a new
approach, a catalogue, about 100 pages on every immigration issue imaginable.
The catalogue is a useful tool
when you are doing hard time and have time to study options.
ICE, local and state police and
the military to follow is showing up at target addresses and picking people up,
arresting them and exporting them. 1,000 per day every day, to grow to 1,500
per day. The catalogue does not work.
What people need right now is
arranging documents that involve powers of attorneys regarding their
children and their real and personal property. They need a contact number that
can direct them to legal counsel in each community where LULAC has
members, that's 8,000 members and 350,000 email members.
LULAC can organize its
community of members to ease the pain.
Asking LULAC'ers to do
something has more value than throwing out a catalogue of things to do.
Getting rid of the Chief of
Creative Content and the Research and Policy Director could save money to hire
5 persons assisted by 30 interns to help LULAC develop an interactive network
that would go a greater distance in helping our immigrant community.
Trump and his MAGA
administration have declared a war against Hispanic Americans. he wants to
outlaw birthright citizenship. He is labeling every undocumented immigrant a
criminal. He wants to send 30,000 undocumented immigrants to Guantanamo to
stigmatize all Hispanics in America, citizens or not as terrorists. Any bad
that occurs in America was caused by a Hispanic who was employed as a DEI
employee.
Yes, Trump is picking a fight
with all minorities, but among all the minorities, Hispanics are the biggest
number.
Hispanics during the Trump
years will be treated like the Jews of Hitler's Europe. Trump calls the
immigrants, and by extension, the Hispanics in America, "the threat from
within." Trump says that immigrants, by extension, American Hispanics, are
attacking American towns and cities. Trump calls immigrants, by extension,
American Hispanics, a cancer in American society. Trump promises his base that he’s the one who can save the country from a
group of people he calls “animals,” “stone cold killers,” the “worst people,”
and the “enemy from within.” States are proposing legislation to offer bounties
for immigrants turned over to ICE.
Whoever came up with the catalogue idea at national LULAC,
the CEO, the CCO or the RPD, they missed the mark. They do not know the
Hispanic streets of America today. The idea probably came from the no
experience in civil rights, no degree in higher education, Juan Proano, who
directed Ray Serrano, the MAGA GOP activist who works at the upper LULAC tree,
to prepare the catalogue, and was finally reviewed by the Brenda Bastian, the
Chief of Creative Content, to check for "prettiness" and posted
online today. It looks pretty, but who has time to figure out who can the
immigrant contact to write him a power of attorney regarding his family and his
property?
Que puedo hacer con mi casa que estoy pagando? Que puedo
hacer con mis hijos? These are the questions on the streets. Si estoy en
tramite, que puedo presentar a ICE? Si manejo estados rojos, que debo hacer?
Que hago con mis hijos siestan en la escuela si me agaran?
These are immediate concerns that the immigrant community has
today.
Meanwhile, Juan Proano is trying to run two organizational entities, LULAC and its LNI, and his Plus3 internet development, design, and hosting business, administering 14 LULAC staffers and 7 Plus3 staffers, all on the LULAC dime and LULAC gets stuck in the mud, otra vez.
