Modern Warfare

Military tanks represent the most lethal piercing armor of any military. The are built with the hardiest metal armor to assist it in advancing into the forefront of any military engagement. Their main armament is a turret that can fire 115mm to 150mm shells, diameters of 5 to 8 inches. Today's tanks are equipped with the latest in electronic technology. The large tanks can run a price of $10 to $30 million.

The war in Ukraine has seen the massive introduction of drones. Drone warfare operates in the air, on land and on water. They cost a fraction of their targets, UAV's (unmanned ariel vehicles) target all sorts of military objectives, case in point, tanks, the muscle of military armor.

A cheap, $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 UAV can approach the armored tank from above, the part of the tank that is least protected, with the least armor.

The above picture is that of a Russian tank retrofitted with metal plates that surround the entirety of the tank, including the top side to prevent a gravity munition released by a UAV from hitting these most heavily armored vehicle from the top.

Since the introduction of armored vehicles, tanks, into battles, WWI and the wars that have come after the Great War, tanks have never been outfitted with these aftermarket metal plating.

UAV have made any tank in an open field an easy target for UAV attacks.

UAV combat moves the UAV operator a further distance from the line of fire.

The above picture is an often repeated picture of today's heavy armor in the frontline of battle.
