Dear Editor:
Happy to invite your readers to
several opportunities as follows:
- INVITATION:
HISD Takeover Symposium, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, 4PM CST
Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues:
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you
to this virtual symposium titled, “The HISD Takeover: What the Evidence
Suggests.” The entire semester in our Policy Analysis class at the University
of Texas at Austin has been an intellectual journey into the world of policy
and politics that lurk behind what appears to be an increasing trend both
statewide and nationwide of school and district takeovers. In the context of
the papers, and thusly evidence, that our masters and doctoral students have
amassed, our work advances knowledge and interpretations that we hope will be
of particular use to the stakeholder community in Houston that is experiencing
takeover.
Please fill out the Qualtrics survey that
provides a Zoom link to the virtual symposium.
