LULAC - It Time for the National LULAC Board of Directors to Act - The LULAC Boat is Sinking

The Editor: All members of the LULAC National Board of Directors are being asked to submit letters to Brent Wilkes notifying him that you support the recognition of the National LULAC Officers who were elected into office by a majority vote of the delegates assembled in the National LULAC National Assembly in New York City this past Saturday, July 12, 2014.

The letter should be notarized.

The notarized letter needs to be in Mr. Wilkes' office today, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 by 5:00 PM (EST), via email or fax.

Texas should send similar letters from the Texas LULAC District Directors.

Luis Vera does not run LULAC, neither does Manuel Escobar and neither does Miguel Ortiz, attorneys who lack authority to act for the League of United Latin American Citizens.  They are writing a response to the TRO that ordered them not to rely on Rule 5 and 21 in the Rules for the Convention of the National Assembly this past Saturday.

Luis Vera, Manuel Escobar and Miguel Ortiz violated their oath as attorneys for the National Assembly of LULAC, as attorneys for the National Board of Directors of LULAC, and as attorneys for the Executive Committee of LULAC by not providing their clients with proper legal counsel.

They exaggerated the directives of the court order to the National Assembly counseling the National Assembly that the convention of the National Assembly could not continue because the court order forbid the continuation of the convention.  They are now preparing to respond to the court's request to show cause why the TRO should not continue.

Who told them to act for LULAC?  Who hired them to act for LULAC?  Who contracted them to act for LULAC?  Who instructed them to act for LULAC?

Luis Vera, Manuel Escobar and Miguel Ortiz are acting without a mandate from LULAC's National Executive Committee or LULAC's National Board, they are acting without authority.  They need to be told to cease and decease.

If the National LULAC Board of Directors does not get off its rear end, these three attorneys are going to get $100,000.00 from Alameel, Walter Martinez and William Ackman, the very money that got LULAC where it is at today, to keep LULAC in court for the next year, and in effect, keep LULAC in limbo for the next year.

Luis Vera, Manuel Escobar and Miguel Ortiz lack a mandate to represent LULAC and need to be stopped before they further empower themselves with the vestiges of LULAC.

The supreme authority of LULAC is the National Assembly. They voted in a new slate of officers for National LULAC.  The supreme authority of LULAC in the interim between annual conventions of the National Assembly is the National Board of LULAC.  The supreme authority of LULAC in the interim between the meetings of the National Board of Directors is the Executive Committee.  It is time for the National Board of Directors to act to bring order to the house of LULAC.

With a new set of National officers, the new Executive Committee and the new National Board of Directors can fire Vera, Escobar and Ortiz and appoint a new general counsel.  They should not appoint a new Legal Advisor, because a Legal Advisor has dictatorial powers, 2/3'rds vote to over-ride, that is forever getting LULAC into one mess after the other.

Eventually, LULAC should do away with its 2/3'rds votes anywhere it is found in the Constitution.
