LULAC - Darryl Morin Resigns From Office of VP of the Midwest

The Editor: Darryl Morin, the LULAC Vice President of the Midwest tendered his resignation from LULAC today.

Morin played a neutral role in the fight between the Maggie Rivera supporters and the Roger Rocha supporters at the LULAC Convention in New York City this week-end.  Maggie Rivera did not run a candidate against him, the only LULAC office that was not challenged by Maggie Rivera's people.  A candidate was nominated, but that candidate refused the nomination and Morin won by acclamation.  Morin's slot will be filled by the National Board or the Executive Committee, as dictated by the LULAC Constitution.  If the Executive Committee appoints, its decision is an interim decision and would need to be concurred with by the National Board.  The Editor feels that Morin saw the writing on the wall.  he was a VP for the Midwest, the same area where Maggie Rivera resides.  He did not support Rivera, because of his loyalties to the Moran powers that be.  Rivera's people are the legitimate voice of LULAC.  They were all elected into office with a majority vote of the 1,625 delegates who registered and were certified to be delegates for the LULAC Convention in New York City.
