LULAC: The Mortal Sin

The Editor: Numbers do not lie, except in LULAC, where if the numbers do not look right, the Moran/Rosales/Vera/Escobar Machine will all it can to resort the machine to produce a better outcome.  In Texas, the Machine could not make the adjustment in the numbers in 2013, so they just shut down the entire operation, they shut down the convention under the guise that the Texas LULAC'ers were about to riot.  In Las Vegas, they used the 2/3'rds rule to invalidate the status of Domingo Garcia, did not permit the use of the vote count, the division of the house, to see how many delegates were voting for the opposition candidates and they filled up the assembly with about 500 delegates that were created on the spot to provide themselves a numbers edge as the disenchanted left the convention floor.

Delegates for councils that are not present at the convention or councils that do not have their full complement of delegates present at the convention are created out of extra people that are attending the convention who are known to be aligned with the Machine candidates.  They are assigned to fill in the needed delegates for the vacant council delegate slots.  These delegates are not run through the floor process which can run hundreds deep for registration and again for certification, a process that is meant to kill the good will and enthusiasm that opposition delegates bring to a convention.  Hundreds of ribbons are set aside, along with the display tags that are given out in a controlled process in secret locations that the Machine has carved out for this dirty business in the hotel convention hotel.

Creating the numbers takes time, because the Machine is having to adjust the numbers on the fly.  That is why the National Assembly did not get going in Las Vegas until 4:45 PM.  In most national conventions, the Assembly gets going by 10 or 11 o'clock in the morning.

Some cheating in LULAC conventions is always expected, but lately, the cheating has gotten so egregious as to push the peg from venial sins to mortal sins.  Veteran LULAC'ers saw the gross extent of cheating to win LULAC state and national elections in 2013 to come to the conclusion that cheating is not always tolerable, or at least it should not be.

The upcoming LULAC National Convention in New York City will present the good people in LULAC to be witness to powerful events that will undo the power arrangement in LULAC for a long time to come, maybe forever.  The only way for the Machine to remain in power will be to take cheating to a new level.  Facts on the ground do not see a numbers game that can be manipulated on the fly as was the case in Vegas or to shut down the convention down as in San Antonio.

A new national LULAC board should act as soon as the convention elects a new slate of officers to investigate the number of make up delegates that the Machine created on the fly in New York City.   They should take down the list of all the delegates who will be part of the count for the National Assembly and via direct communication with the delegates assess who the make up delegates were and who in the echelon of the Machine gave them bona fidis in the national Assembly.  From among the hundreds of make up delegates, it would not take but a short time for a hot trail to show the new board and LULAC who the orchestrators are.

Their entire chain of maldoers, from the top to the bottom, should be taken to task and either suspended from LULAC for a limit of years or expelled from LULAC for ever.

If any of them, say, Oscar Moran, Rosa Rosales, Margaret Moran or any other former national president is found amongst the midst, they should be removed from the chronological roster of former national presidents of LULAC.
